Georgia and Lithuania will hold joint military exercises

As part of the package of NATO-Georgia Georgia and Lithuania will hold joint military exercises, - said the press service of the Government, issued after the meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili with Lithuanian Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas (Juozas Olekas).

Olekas arrived in Georgia on an official visit and has already met with Defense Minister Irakli Alasania and Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze. It is also planned to meet with the president of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili.

Earlier during the NATO summit, which was held in Wales on September 4-5, has approved a package of measures to encourage Georgia in its bid for membership in the alliance. A few days earlier, on September 1, entered into force most of the Georgia Association Agreement with the European Union, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. The document was signed in Brussels on 27 June.
