The U.S. government will soon begin, through its embassy issuing passports to residents of neutral “occupied territory of Georgia.” This statement was made in Batumi at the final press conference on the visit to Georgia, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

According to her, so the U.S. wants to make a positive contribution to the restoration of confidence between the conflicting parties, as well as promote the rights of citizens from the occupied territories.

Clinton added that the neutral passports will be issued to those who wish to study in the United States.

“The U.S. is ready to contribute to the peaceful settlement of conflicts in Georgia and is the first step in this direction”, - summed up the Clinton
