The Georgian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the authorities monitor the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with the help of European satellites. According to the Foreign Ministry, agreed to the use of satellites have given all the EU countries.

Georgia oversees the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with the help of European satellites, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze.

“From all the EU countries received agreement in principle for the satellite observation. There is a receipt of information based on the technical capabilities of the European Union”, - said Kalandadze, the Georgian agency “GHN”.

EU countries consider Abkhazia and South Ossetia part of Georgia and, unlike Russia, does not recognize the independence of these republics. Who visited last week in Moscow, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen made it clear that the alliance does not recognize the independence of the Caucasian republics. “I officially declared that NATO insists on full respect for Georgia’s right to respect for the territorial integrity,” - said Rasmussen, responding to the question of Georgian journalists.
